And social platforms are continuing to develop videos in new ways.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom.fb.com\/news\/2016\/03\/news-feed-fyi-taking-into-account-live-video-when-ranking-feed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook recently shared in a blog post<\/a>, \u201cNow that more and more people are watching live videos, we are considering live videos as a new content type\u2014different from normal videos\u2014and learning how to rank them for people in News Feed.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><b>The 18 to 33 year-old demographic are avid social video consumers:<br \/>\n<\/b>Millennials are spending less time reading and more time watching videos. By 2030,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jeannemeister\/2012\/10\/05\/millennialmindse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">millennials will make up 75% of the global workforce<\/a>. Using video on social media can help you connect with your audience on a personal level, and leave a stronger impression.<br \/>\nNow that we know why you should get into social media videos, let\u2019s get into the five types of videos that work best on social.<\/p>\n<h2>Social media video #1: tips &amp; tricks videos<\/h2>\n<p>Tips and tricks videos are fun and quick ways to provide educational content to your audience on social media. These videos in particular can take something like a text-heavy job post up a notch and help you stand out from your competition, or simply show off your brand and what it&#8217;s like to work at your company.<br \/>\nWhen people are choosing between jobs, they often check out a business&#8217; social media presence to see what the company is all about, and how the team work together. Using videos on social media can help people understand what the company culture is right away, from their own phones or laptops.<br \/>\nHere are four types of videos you can create to show off your company culture on social:<br \/>\n<strong>Cultural crowdsource<\/strong><br \/>\nCultural crowdsource is one of the easiest types of videos to make for social. So you can use a B-roll video to show off your company culture or promote a specific job post on channels outside of your own website, like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We&#8217;ve all heard the phrase &#8220;show, don&#8217;t tell.&#8221; I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ve heard that many times before, but this concept is particularly important when it comes to creating authentic company culture videos. And there\u2019s nothing more personal than a video dedicated to a specific brand.<br \/>\nOf course, these videos take longer to make and are not dedicated to mass audiences. But they&#8217;re a great way to get some attention from specific brand or customer you&#8217;re looking to reach.<br \/>\nHere\u2019s an awesome example from Wistia. They wanted to reach out to Slack to show them how much they love their product.<br \/>\nSo they created this video exclusively for social media, and shared it on Twitter. The B2B world loves to hear from experts and industry influencers who\u2019ve made it. You see blog posts about expert roundups giving tips and advice almost everywhere.<br \/>\nInfluencer videos work especially well if your brand is just starting out, because people don\u2019t know you and your employees yet, so they won\u2019t necessarily be super excited to see you in a video. But if you get the right influencers, they\u2019ll attract people. It also gives you credibility and saves you time on promotion. Very often, a big influencer doing a tweet is worth 50 tweets from your company\u2019s account.<br \/>\nAnd that\u2019s what we did for our video marketing series. It can be a short video that introduces your product, like this one we did three months ago:<br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmentionapp%2Fvideos%2F1335888499799688%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nOr you can do videos introducing new features, like Wistia loves to do:<br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fwistia%2Fvideos%2F10154837450528031%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThese work really well on social media. This one about Soapbox has over 200k views!<br \/>\nObviously,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mention.com\/en\/blog\/product-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creating product videos<\/a> can be tricky. But speaking from my experience of creating Mention\u2019s product video, my biggest advice is to get your script right.<br \/>\nA good product video needs a good script; like the script of a movie. You should have a challenge set up as an obstacle, and talk about how your product helps people overcome that obstacle (kind of like the hero in a movie.)<br \/>\nKeep in mind that your (potential) customers don\u2019t care about you or your products, but themselves. So the best way to get them to care about you, is to show them you can solve their problems.<br \/>\nThe tone of your video should represent your brand voice and what you\u2019re selling. For example, if you\u2019re a dating app, sound fun and flirty. For us, we want to highlight the fact that Mention is easy to use, so we chose a conversational, straight-to-the-point tone, free of jargons and corporate terms.<\/p>\n<h2>Start creating social media videos today<\/h2>\n<p>So there you have it. Five types of videos that you can create for social media. If you feel overwhelmed or paralyzed about what to start with, do whatever feels the most natural to your brand and go from there.<br \/>\nThink about what\u2019s the video type that you can do with the least amount of effort and budget and test it out. You don&#8217;t need a studio or a video crew. Start shooting one with <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/make-iphone-video\">your iPhone<\/a>.
