As is the algorithm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, building a social media content\ncalendar is really easy. Share your video with the\nworld<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your video is made, you can share it with\nthe world. But don&#8217;t jump the gun and post your masterpiece at any time. To find success with social media videos you need to monitor\nthem and analyze their success. Did your latest video get as many likes,\nshares, retweets, and comments as you hoped it would? Why or why not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you understand why a piece of content\nperformed the way it did, you can better optimize your approach in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe you learn that your <a href=\"https:\/\/mention.com\/en\/blog\/product-video\/\">product\nvideos<\/a> always lose viewers at the midpoint. So you begin to craft\nshorter, more pointed pieces of content. Perhaps you discover that videos made\nfrom user-generated content get incredible amounts of engagement. The point is to understand your audience, their likes, and dislikes,\nand be able to craft better content moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Social video best practices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve shared with you a four-step system for\ncreating social video content. But before I sign off, I want to give you a few\nbest-practices. Keep these things in mind when crafting content:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Know your platform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The kind of videos you post on LinkedIn should\nbe different from the ones you post on Instagram. The audiences on every social\nmedia platform have their own preferences and it would behoove you to be aware\nof them. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Facebook:<\/strong> Facebook is a major video platform.\nBecause of this, Facebook audiences tend to have short attention spans. If a\nvideo doesn&#8217;t hook them in the first couple of seconds, they can easily watch a\ndifferent one. Keep this in mind when crafting facebook content and make sure\nthe first two seconds of your videos are engaging.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Instagram and Twitter:<\/strong> Things happen at\nbreakneck speed on Instagram and Twitter. As such, I recommend crafting shorter\nvideos for these platforms. Again, it&#8217;s about attention. Instagram and Twitter\nusers aren&#8217;t accustomed to dwelling on specific pieces of content for long\nperiods of time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LinkedIn:<\/strong> Contrary to Instagram and Twitter content best practices, LinkedIn videos can and <em>should<\/em> be longer. You&#8217;ll be interacting with a professional audience who want to receive more detailed content from your brand. Give them well-thought and researched pieces and you&#8217;ll find more success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I should mention that just because every\nplatform requires different styles of content doesn&#8217;t mean you have to slave\naway shooting dozens of videos every week. Instead, simply edit your videos to\nappeal to different crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, a full, detailed video you shoot\nfor LinkedIn can be broken down into smaller clips, which can be posted to\nInstagram and Twitter at various intervals throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Your followers will get bored if you\nonly post product videos \u2014 even if they&#8217;re amazing.
