Mention is a powerful tool for never missing out. And that starts with creating alerts that’ll always keep you in the loop – no matter what.

To do this, simply start by clicking “Create an alert” on the top left of your sidebar.

Fill in the name of your alert. It’s for your personal use only, so it’ll have no impact on the results of your mentions. The most important step here is to choose the right keywords for what you’d like to follow. These will be what we’ll track for you on the web.

Most of the time, filling the “Find mentions” field with the keywords you want to monitor is sufficient. But how do you take it to the next level, you ask?

Well, under advanced settings, you can make your alerts even smarter by adding other keywords that you want also to be found – or better yet, not found – in the same mention. It will enable you to avoid mentions that aren’t relevant to you.

No need to add quotation marks “” or a hashtag # when you’re setting up your alerts. Mention monitors the exact word or phrase, just as it’s written, and with the advanced settings, you’ll find a much simpler search setup than with the more complicated boolean system.
